TIPI THIEVES presents:
A Study of Tribes from the Arctic.
Felipe Merida was born in Guatemala in 1983, and grew up in San Francisco, California. He studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, and Sheridan College in Toronto, where he graduated with a degree in Illustration. Merida has established himself as a successful graphic designer in the Fashion Apparel Industry and maintains his fine art endeavors as a personal journey providing inspiration and pleasure. His work is rarely exhibited publicly. In 2009 Merida collaborated with Nomads SF where the collection Tipi Thieves first publicly debuted. In 2010 he showed a collection of ink drawings entitled Indian Summer at Dylan Gallery, Philadelphia, and again at Ed Varie in NYC in the winter of 2011. Merida currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife Renata.
